Open lecture on couture with professor Chris Breward

Teaser to upcoming exhibition 

The lecture is held as a teaser to the upcoming exhibition The secrets of Couture at Sven-Harry's Art Museum in January, in which our 12 final-year fashion students will exhibit work alongside Swedish and international designers. One of the fashion designers exhibiting is Pär Engsheden, programme director of Fashion at Beckmans.

Widely published fashion historian

Chris Breward has published and curated widely on the histories of fashion, masculinities and urban cultures. He has held lecturer posts at Manchester Metropolitan University, the Royal College of Art and London College of Fashion and was previously Head of Research at the Victoria and Albert Museum. In 2011 he was appointed Head of Edinburgh College of Art, and is also Vice Principal for the Creative Industries and Performing Arts at the University of Edinburgh. 

Edinburgh University is regularly ranked among the leading 50 universities in the world. The city's College of Art was founded in 1907 and has about 1,700 full-time students.
